Councillor Kylie Wright will put forward a notice of motion for the change at the council’s January meeting.
Cr Wright said as the East Coast was an inclusive community with many proud Indigenous members, she believed it was a move that would greatly strengthen existing relationships.
“I have consulted with Aboriginal elders and other members of our community who have responded very much in support of this motion, for council adopting daily flying the Aboriginal flag,” she said.
