The real estate firm raised over $18,000 at their annual Christmas silent auction, which was donated to various Launceston charities.
Director at Bushby Eric Anderson said the donations provide crucial support for charities during this time of year.
“It’s something we feel fairly tight with and we’ve been doing it for such a long time now,” he said.
“Most of the items that we auction off to the staff tend to go for what they’re actually valued at because they appreciate the fact that the money’s going to charity.”
The silent auction has been held for 14 years, raising over $200,000 over that period.
“This year we had over 80 auction items and I think if we didn’t get all of those items to auction off from hotels, restaurants and suppliers we probably just couldn’t do it,” Mr Anderson said.
The Examiner’s Empty Stocking Appeal has now raised nearly $70,000 for our annual appeal.
