A recruitment process for an executive director, as well as the newly created position of business development manager will be advertised in early November.
Ms Clarke said that she would be re-activating her design and manufacturing career in both Melbourne and Sydney.
She served as chief executive for three years.
“It has been a great honour to have served the design community of Tasmania and provide a secure footing for the future developments of the organisation,” she said.
“I feel confident that Design Tasmania will continue to grow its engagement with the local community and wish the board and staff the very best for the future.”
Ms Clarke played in instrumental role in securing additional funding for the organisation, including a $390,000 grant from the Ian Potter Foundation, the largest arts grant given to a Tasmanian organisation by the Ian Potter Foundation.
The range and variety of artistic programs at Design Tasmania were also extended under her leadership, including the first Tasmanian Aboriginal mentor program and educational programs attached to exhibitions.
“Under Karina's leadership, Design Tasmania has continued to forge close ties with key community and cultural organisations, within Tasmania and nationally,” a Design Tasmania spokesperson said.
