Painted Stronger Together, facilitated by Red Cross, is being held again after a successful run last year throughout Mental Health Week.
This year it asked the question “what is mental health?” and received a collaborative answer from 24 local organisations and their clients, resulting in 24 artworks.
It's totally about taking art and the conversation out of its comfort zone
- Fakington Wilde, community artist and social work student
The brainchild of community artist and UTAS social work student Fakington Wilde, the exhibition has this year been largely coordinated by another student, Stacey Luck.
“I’ve seen some of the artwork come out and I’m so excited,” she said.
“It’s phenomenal some of the stuff the organisations and participants have done.”

It may not be an obvious place for this kind of art or discussions but, said Mr Wilde, that’s the idea.
“It's totally about taking art and the conversation out of its comfort zone,” he added.
“And exposing it to thousands of people that go through Bunnings.”
The exhibition runs from October 4 to 13 at Bunnings North Launceston, with a launch event on Monday from 4pm.
