Parks and Wildlife is expected to conduct a fuel reduction burn at Scamander Forest Reserve.
The burn will cover almost 300 hectares and is expected to take up to two days to complete.
Public access will be restricted as part of the operation.
“While the fire intensity will be low, it will generate flames, smoke and ash,” a Tasmania Fire Service spokesperson said.
“The public is asked to remain well out of the burn site while the burn is taking place and for the following days until safety checks have been made along tracks and trails.
“Please comply with directions from staff or any signs if you are in the area.”
The operation is part of the statewide fuel reduction burn program.
