It is the second deliberately lit fire in the state’s North in two days.
Tasmania Fire Service was called to the former United Service Station at George Town about 1am.
The damage bill is expected to be about $60,000.
A Tasmania Police spokeswoman said the site was subject to a previous fire “some time ago” and the occupant had since vacated the property.
The building was vacant at the time of the incident, and no one was injured.
Tasmania Police is still investigating the deliberately lit fire at Mayfield fire that occurred on Saturday night.
The fire was quickly extinguished, but caused extensive damage to the house’s interior.
A Tasmania Police spokeswoman said police are following up “a number of leads” and on information that has been received from the public.
Police wished to thank the community for the support.
Anyone with information about either incident is urged to contact the Launceston CIB on 131 444.
Information can also be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestopperstas.com.au.
A house fire in state’s South on Monday was also deemed as suspicious.
Tasmania Fire Service was called to a Claremont property about 5.30am and found a unit “engulfed in fire”.
The unit was unoccupied at the time and no one was injured during the incident.
Tasmania Police is also investigating this incident.
