Toastee’s second store opened on George Street just a few short weeks ago after a “hard slog” to renovate the former Townsend’s Bakery site.
“We’ve had a few speed bumps along the way and some issues with equipment, but it’s all worth it,” owner Nick Kaine said.
Former Townsend’s co-owner Leigh Townsend was on-hand to have a look at the new coffee shop just days out from its official opening.
He had a few words of advice for the budding business owner.
“Work hard, pay your bills and you’ll be fine,” he said.
“It’s not a big secret, you just need to work hard – you never stop when you own a small business.”
