A tasting bar and bagpipe museum, The Grumpy Piper is the dream project of Norwood couple Kent Fisher and Natalie Bell.
Located at 17 Paterson Street, the bar is on the building’s first floor with a dedicated bagpipe museum and tasting room on the second.
The son of a Scotsman, Mr Fisher is a member of the City of Launceston Pipes and Drums Band and has collected more than 40 Great Highland Bagpipes from around the world.
His collection, along with an array of Scottish memorabilia, will be on full display to the public.
The couple has spent almost a year renovating the building, which previously housed a financial planning business.
Originally planned to open in February, the development was delayed by planning approvals.
Despite the setback, Ms Bell said they couldn’t be more excited to finally open.
“We have had a few delays that we have just had to work through,” she said.
“Now, we are just happy that all of the hard work has paid off and we can enjoy it now.
“We really have poured our hearts and souls into this bar and we couldn’t be happier with the finished results.
“It is a whole new experience for us and there has been a pretty big build up to the opening.
“Hopefully it is smooth sailings for us from now on and people enjoy it.”
The Grumpy Piper will be open from 4pm on Friday.
