A precursor to the weekend’s action, the B-Doubles were given a wide berth along their route, which encompassed parts of George Town Road and the Midland HIghway.
The drivers clearly appreciated the support, honking their horns to acknowledge onlookers.
Supercars event manager Rachel White said the parade had a rich history in Launceston.
“We get a lot of families coming along, and it’s a nice way for the community to welcome the Supercars,” she said.
“This is the 46th year we have come to Symmons Plains, meaning only Sandown in Adelaide has hosted more rounds in Australian Touring Car Championship history.
“All the drivers really look forward to it.”
The parade caused quite a stir on social media, with people expressing their excitement on The Examiner’s Facebook page.
“It was great,” one user wrote.
“Had a very excited three-year-old with me.”
The parade is part of series of events scheduled throughout this week to build interest in the weekend’s races.
