This Saturday and Sunday, private residences throughout the town will open their gardens to the public in the height of the spring season.
Longford resident and dedicated gardener Paula Smith and her husband Cedric will be welcoming visitors to their white cottage and spectacular cottage garden.
It’s been a four-year project to bring the garden to full splendor, but a project Mrs Smith has loved.
“It had good bones but had been very neglected,” she said.
Now fully restored, the white cottage garden will be one of twelve gardens open over the two days.
Organiser Robert Henley, from Longford Antiques, said four gardens will be open across both days, with eight other gardens open on separate days.
Mr Henley said tickets are $5 to visit all the gardens from 10am to 4pm, and can be purchased on both days at Longford Antiques, along with information on each garden and its owners.
