Ruby Anne Brewer and Shanzel Lee Brewer were farewelled by family and friends at the Lilydale Memorial Hall on Saturday.
Ruby,13, and Shanzel,10, tragically had their lives cut short when they were killed in a fire at their Turners Marsh home last month.
During Saturday’s service, their heartbroken father Clifford Brewer thanked his family, friends and the community for their support over the past few weeks.
“I’m the proud father of Ruby and Shanzel, they were my world … they didn’t have a chance at life,” he said.
“It just breaks my heart so much but I’m proud to have the family I have got.”
A family friend read out a eulogy on behalf of distraught mother, Kelly Barnes.
“Ruby and Shanzel, always remember, you are both beautiful, you are both worthy, you are both ever so important, you are both so special, you are both so unique and most of all you are both so irreplaceable,” the tribute read.
“Mummy’s angel babies, you are forever in our hearts and always will be, fly away from here. I love and miss you forever, this is not goodbye mummy’s angels, it’s until we meet again.”
Teacher David Brown shared words on behalf of Lilydale District School where both Ruby and Shanzel attended.
He said both girls loved to help their friends, enjoyed conversations with their teachers and loved to write stories.
“Ruby and Shanzel had many friends and made an impact on our school community,” he said.
“Ruby was bright, mature and a great friend … Shanzel was very much like Ruby but she had her own personality too.
“Even though the children are only ours for a few hours a day and a short period of their lives, they make an impact on us as teachers in more ways than one.”
After the service, guests gathered next door at the school where a plaque has been placed in memory of the sisters.
