More than $10,000 have been given to the centre to install solar panels.
Evandale History Society chairman Laurie Wotherspoon said the Community Infrastructure Grant will save big problems for the centre.
“A $2000 saving per year is going to be a big saving for us, we’re just so pleased,” Mr Wotherspoon said.
“We’ve scratched in the middle of winter to pay our power bills, it’s just one of those things you have to do.”
The panels are expected to cost about $12,000.
Liberal member for Lyons Guy Barnett said he was delighted to deliver the grant to provide a secure future.
