Break O’Day mayor Mick Tucker said the program was a great initiative, taking the chance to hand out stickers to the children as they walked.
“We really want to let the kids in the area know that council is always a safe place for them if they ever need one,” he said.
“I really enjoyed greeting the kids on their way to school and we certainly had a few laughs, honestly I think it was more fun for me than them.
“Having the opportunity to make these connections with the next generation is really important and certainly one of the more rewarding and fun things I get to do as Mayor.”
