Pyper Jones, 9, plays AFL with Prospect Hawks Football Club after making the switch from soccer two years ago.
At the game she was joined by her two younger brothers Joby, 6, and Jesy, 2, where they cheered on the Hawks despite their home team struggling to keep up with the Saints.
Pyper’s mum Renae said the rising footy star has been an obsessed Hawks member for three years, converting her brothers to the Hawthorn cause.
She made the trek to Melbourne last year to see her beloved Hawks play the Demons.
“She can name all the AFL captains and her favourite captain is Daisy Pearce,” Renae said.
“She’s a complete football fanatic.
“We’ve gone to every game [in Tasmania] for the last three years.”
With the Prospect Hawks now fielding a senior womens’ team as well as juniors, Renae said it was highly likely Pyper’s name would be seen on scoreboards around the state in the future.
