A Launceston College 18-year-old was presented with the highest award in scouting - the Queen’s Scout Award - at a ceremony in Riverside on Friday night.

About 40 scouts and onlookers gathered in the Rivallyn Venturer Den at Tailrace Park as Amber Grosvenor was presented with the award by Launceston and Tamar scouts district commissioner Andrew Thompson.
Miss Grosvenor said she had been involved in scouts for most of her life.
“I’m very happy to achieve this award,” Miss Grosvenor said.
“I've been in scouts as a joey since I was about five-and-a-half and I'm 18 now.
“I’ve got a lot of confidence out of it, I've made lots of new friends and got lots of experience for new things.”
