The Australian Government’s Mobile Service Centre travels throughout Australia and aims to provide locals with face-to-face service, information and support.

The mobile service provides information about Australian Government payments and services, including centrelink, medicare and child support, for rural families, older Australians, students, job seekers, people with disabilities, careers, farmers and self-employed people.
People will be able to update their information and records, confirm documents and supporting information, including certifying copies of birth certificates.
The option to enrol for and issuing of new medicare cards will be available, too. However, only non-cash medicare transactions are available.
Information about social work support and referrals and free hearing health checks will also be available.
Advice about payment and service options for individual circumstances, child support payment and service options, rural payment entitlements for eligible farmers, along with information about self-serving facilities, including accessing and using online accounts and mobile applications will be available on the day.
The Australian Tax Office will also be available on the day to to provide advice and information about tax and superannuation.
The workers are specialists in rural and remote servicing and live and work in the communities they serve.
The mobile service will be at the Ross Town Hall on Bridge Street on Friday, March 10 from 9am until 4pm.
On Thursday, March 16, the service will visit Poatina Community Hall car park in Gordon Street from 9.30am until 4pm.
Oatlands will receive the same service on March 21 from 10am until 3.30pm.
The mobile service will visit more than 15 regional towns in Tasmania and has already been provided in other Australian states, including South Australia and Queensland.
The service will be travelling all around Tasmania from Tuesday, March 7 until Thursday, March 30.
