Eight forums from March 2 to 17 will be held across the municipality as part of a federal grant to increase its own energy efficiency and to spread awareness.
Meander Valley Mayor Craig Perkins said the council had already seen significant savings from upgrading the efficiency of its facilities.
"The community complex and business centre in Deloraine and the council offices in Westbury," Cr Perkins said.
"There have been huge amounts of savings just on the council's energy bill as a result of the work they've done."
Workshops are titled Save Energy, Save Money, Improve Comfort to be run by energy auditors Harkness Consulting Services. The workshops will include simple energy saving measures that can help residents save $200 to $300 a year on home energy bills.
