The club last week announced former Rocherlea premiership player Heath Fox as its senior coach for 2015.
The Magpies, who have been NTFA wooden spooners for the past two years, have conducted a vigorous recruiting campaign in a bid to lift their standing in the competition.
Fox, 31, has had extensive playing experience with North Launceston and South Launceston at statewide level, and played in two Rocherlea premierships in the NTFA division 1.
He also coached Ringarooma to the NEFU premiership in 2008.
``My immediate aim as coach is to lift the club up the ladder,'' he said.
``Scottsdale Football Club is one of the most prestigious names in Northern football.
``It is a proud club and I want to be part of its rejuvenation.
``The club has had an outstanding recent record at under-19 level, but these kids need support from experienced recruits.
``We’ve already signed a number of new players, including Sam Carins as assistant coach, and I’m talking to half a dozen more.''
President Murray Lade said acquiring a playing coach with Fox’s credentials was a boost for the club.
``Heath is a player with considerable experience who is accustomed to success,'' Lade said.
``He is widely respected in the football community and his appointment is attracting plenty of interest from players in the North-East and Launceston areas.''
The club has appointed Denham Hall and Joel Hayes, respectively, as reserves and under-19 coaches.
