Ms Tiffin is an avid gardener and boasts an extensive background in creating the self-sustaining gardens.
She will next month hold a workshop designed to give attendees the bare basics of starting ing their own permaculture patch.
Tips on mineralisation and soil remediation, seed saving, harvesting, planting and more will be shared at Westbury Community Garden on Saturday, September 6.
She said most people interested in gardening were in their 50s, or older, and encouraged younger generations to take an interest in the outdoor passion.
‘‘It is fun, it’s not just a food sustainability thing,’’ Ms Tiffin said.
‘‘I couldn’t imagine what people do if they don’t have somewhere in the garden to pootle around with.’’
The workshop will also include information on effortless no-dig garden beds.
Attendees are asked to bring their own lunch, a hat and gloves for the 10am to 2pm workshop.
Entry is by gold coin donation and bookings can be made by calling 6362 2678.
For more information call Ms Tiffin on 6369 5510.
