Glenda Mountney, of Herrick, said it was the last auxiliary of its kind in Tasmania.
"It all started in Ringarooma where a couple of families had children who were going to the Hobart deaf school and it just went on from there," Mrs Mountney said.
"We renamed ourselves Dorset-East after the council amalgamations in the 1990s."
Mrs Mountney said although the group held several fund-raising activities each year, members were not exactly tied down when it came to meetings.
"We only have one meeting a year - the AGM - and we invite a guest speaker from each of the societies and divide the money we've raised between them," she said.
"It used to be quite a lot, but it's got smaller in recent years - it was only about $1700 each last year.
"We've got a lot of people we can call on to help when we have a morning tea or something like that, but we've only got about 10actual members - nearly all Winnaleah-Derby CWA members.
"Our average age is about 70, so some new, younger members would be great."
Mrs Thompson said the group always had a good stall at the Scottsdale Show, with a raffle.
"We sit there for the two days and always get about $1000," she said.
"We also try to get any little catering jobs we can, like the recent bangers and mash evening and a soup and sandwich luncheon, at Gladstone Hall, about 11.30am, on July 16.
"It's a great social thing and not onerous at all."
