A HERDSMANS Cove man allegedly caught speeding at almost 200 km/h on the Midland Highway yesterday already had a disqualified licence.

Police said they had received several reports about the 30-year-old man driving a silver Mazda 323 hatchback between 9am and 3pm.
The car was travelling north in the morning to Launceston from Bridgewater and later travelling south.
As a result of information from the public, police allegedly detected the vehicle travelling at almost 200 km/h at Brighton about 3.30pm.
The male driver allegedly evaded police interception attempts and was later located at a Herdsmans Cove address.
He was charged with evading police, disqualified driving, dangerous driving, speeding and property offences.
The vehicle was confiscated by police.
Police thanked members of the public who provided information about the incident and encouraged drivers to continue to report incidents of dangerous driving by calling 131 444.
