``The theme of Heritage Month this year is journeys, and we wanted Launceston to have the chance to experience what it would have been like to ride the tram on an autumn evening,'' museum marketing manager Graham Quinn said.
People will also be able to explore the museum and tram restoration workshop.
``We have a trove of interesting facts about the era of tram journeys in Launceston, and our museum guides and tram conductors like to share these with visitors,'' Mr Quinn said.
``For instance, the trams had 95 million passengers and travelled over 1.1 million miles in only their first 25 years of operation.''
The event coincides with a call-out for new volunteers.
``Anyone interested is welcome to talk to us at one of our events in May . . . or to visit the museum during opening hours, have a ride on the tram, and talk about joining our dedicated team,'' safety officer John Bulk said.
