When Tasmania Fire Service crews arrived the Invermay soccer ground's toilets, a shower block and meeting room were half engulfed.
Fire investigators deemed the cause was arson.
Launceston City Council general manager Robert Dobrzynski said the building was valued at more than $295,000.
"It is extremely disappointing to the council and a shattering blow to the Northern Tasmanian Junior Soccer Association," Mr Dobrzynski said.
"We have begun discussions with the NTJSA about the way forward and they will liaise with their members in coming weeks.
"At this stage, the council will look at providing a temporary demountable structure and then we will examine the possibility of permanent replacement."
The structure has been fenced off and will be demolished later this week.
