Soon to be the new official Bass MHR, Andrew Nikolic, who knows his way around the nation's capital from his defence career, said it was a good opportunity to meet his new colleagues.

"There was a sense of real calmness, unity of purpose, a real desire to do good things," Mr Nikolic said.

He has dubbed himself and his fellow successful Tasmanian Liberal candidates Brett Whiteley in Braddon and Eric Hutchinson in Lyons the "three amigos".

"We sat next to each other, we're there for each other," Mr Nikolic said.

Mr Hutchinson said the three of them would present a united front.

"We all bring different skills, Brett with his experience previously in his state role. Andrew, very strong strategically and intellectually and I bring different skills to the table," Mr Hutchinson said.

The Liberals were yesterday playing down expectations about how quickly they would be able to deliver on election promises.

"The message that came out of there was we're not going to be rushed into this," Mr Hutchinson said.

"There's a lot of things to be done, a lot of hard work to be done."

Mr Nikolic agreed. "We don't even have offices yet."

Only $2 million has been allocated to implementing the Liberals' economic growth plan for Tasmania this financial year with the bulk of the money to flow to the state in the next two financial years.
