Tasmanian Liberal Party president Sam McQuestin has confirmed he will seek pre-selection for the Legislative Council seat of Launceston, after the party advertised yesterday seeking expressions of interest in the seat.

``Launceston has been very well served since 1982 by retiring member Don Wing and, should I be successful in pre-selection, I would aim to continue his good work,” Mr McQuestin said.
``Issues like, the state of the Tamar River, the still incomplete levee system, inadequate infrastructure, sufficient resourcing of the Launceston General Hospital and job opportunities are just a few examples of local concerns I would like the opportunity to fight for.”
