The state Liberal Party is still committed to endorsing a candidate for the Legislative Council electorate of Murchison, despite announcing two candidates at the weekend for other areas.

When asked what their plans were for next year's election, a party spokesperson said they were still finalising their preferred candidate.
"The Liberal Party's preselection process is currently underway, and we hope to be in a position to announce a candidate for Murchison very soon," a party spokesperson said.
Last month, Ms Forrest, who has held the seat since 2005, was asked why she was running again.
"I remain very passionate about our region and appreciate the opportunity to engage with business, industry and community organisations as well as individual constituents," Ms Forrest said.
