Crews responding to the mass whale stranding on Ocean Beach at Macquarie Harbour are now focusing on disposing of carcases after the death of a restranded animal overnight.

It is understood that three whales are still alive on the beach.
However, Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service regional operations manager Brendon Clark said crews could not reach the stranded whales.
"We're still trying to access them.
"Tidal conditions have still prevented us from getting to those three whales."
Mr Clark also said some whales also restranded overnight.
"We are just confirming through the on-beach assessments as to exactly what the numbers are.
"One of the restraned whales unfortunately deceased overnight.
"Also, as part of our welfare operations late yesterday afternoon, we did have to euthanise one animal.
"That's unfortunate, but that's also one of the consequences of these types of events."
