Playing two years of senior football at North Launceston before progressing to SANFL side Norwood, the forward-ruck still keeps an eye on the Bombers.
"Brad [Cox-Goodyer] is doing an amazing job with such a young group of guys down there," he said.
"It's annoying at times you lose your best under-18 players to the Devils but that's just how it is.
"We're looking good for the future, we've got a nice young side and they're all starting to develop nicely.
"When Brad's playing and hopefully we can get a couple of older boys back for next year, you never know what we'll be like."
Callow knows what it's like to be a young Bomber putting in impressive State League performances, with a three-goal grand-final showing in average conditions during his fourth senior game in 2019.
With the Bombers producing 19 debutants last season and well on their way to catching that number this year, a couple of the team's prospects have caught Callow's eye.
"I've really been keeping an eye on Michael Stingel a fair bit, he's had a good start to the North Launnie TSL season," he said.
"He's also played a couple of games over here, I played against him in a practice match in pre-season for North Melbourne and he didn't look out of place whatsoever.
"Lachie Cowan has made the sacrifice to come up from the North-West Coast to play for North this year and he hasn't played many games, he's been playing Devils, but he's stepped up and probably the lead contender to get picked up [in the draft] this year in that team.
"I feel like what he's doing is a really good thing and hopefully he gets picked up at the end of the year and gets Tassie a draft pick."
Last year's Matthew Richardson Medallist for the competition's best young player, Stingel has missed the last two games due to a slight syndesmosis tear, while Cowan looks set to make his TSL return this weekend with the Devils having a bye.
Alongside Toby Nankervis, Rhyan Mansell and Tarryn Thomas, Callow is one of four North Launceston products playing in the AFL, with three - Jay Foon, Jay Lockhart and Oliver Sanders - in the VFL and Tom Donnelly following in his footsteps at Norwood.
"Tommy Donnelly got my number that I had at Norwood last year, so it's pretty cool to keep the number six for the North Launnie boys," Callow said.
"He's having a really good start to the year as well.
"He messaged me and told me this is what he wanted to do and I told him 'mate, I have no bad experiences there whatsoever and Jade [Rawlings] was one of the best coaches I've ever had'.
"I said 'go for it mate', I sent him Jade's number and he's gone over on his own and done an amazing job.
"It's a big sacrifice moving to Adelaide when you don't really know anyone so I can't get over what Tommy's done ... hopefully I can see him on an AFL list soon."
