As fans of Supercars Championship prepare for the weekend at Symmons Plains, so too did those at the raceway who were making sure everything was set up for a blockbuster weekend
Motorsports Tasmania general manager Donald Potter was excited for three days of racing, as it was all systems go to set up for race day.
"We started setting up last Monday, all contractors have been coming along to set up all the different components that make up the logistics of this event. It will ramp up into Wednesday and be all stations go into Thursday as we prepare for the first day of racing on Friday," he said.

"The racing will be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, Friday will be a half a day for the support categories, that way they will get a practise and qualifying so that the weekend is full of racing.
"We have tried to get a few more numbers allowed in the gates but it is going to be a 5000 per day capped attendance. I don't see it changing, it's a shame as we have 140 acres of ground here."
Mr Potter said that although COVID restrictions were disappointing, it was important to have the event.
"I've been general manager for about six and a half years and a normal Saturday at the Supercars we could have around 15,000 sitting here each day and about 55,000 over the weekend," he said.

"To limit to 15,000 for this weekend is a shame, especially when I understand COVID is hard but it would be great to have more people here out in the open on the grass.
"Whether it's Targa, AFL, cricket Tasmanians are very into sports and sports event.Because of the size of Tasmania we have people coming from all across the state to come along to the Supercars."
Mr Potter encourage fans to pre-purchase tickets to ensure they don't miss out.
"There are ticket sales at the gate, but we hope people that really want to come pre purchase tickets so they don't miss out, as we aren't sure how long door sale would last. We would hate for the die-hard fans to miss out."
