The upgrade was made possible by a $3 million grant from the state government as part of a pre-election promise, with the remaining $4 million put forth by the Dorset Council.
The new aquatic centre features an eight-lane 25 metre pool, a learners pool, toddlers pool for children under five years of age, a water park with slides and water dump buckets set to be popular with children, as well as a kiosk with food and drinks.
Dorset mayor Greg Howard said the upgrade was long overdue.
"The pool was probably 15 years past it's used by date and these new upgrades are giving it a new life," he said.
"We are really pleased with how it's come up and we are certain that it will be a popular place for people to cool off that the weather is beginning to warm up.
"The pool is free for everyone so it won't cost anything to have a great family day out."
The Premier will officially open the centre on December 1, with the public welcome to attend the grand opening party on December 4, which will feature a barbecue and games.
