Scott Roth's side was defeated by Brisbane Bullets 89-79 in its opening game of the NBL's pre-season Blitz competition at the newly named MyState Bank Arena [Derwent Entertainment Centre] in Hobart.
Import Josh Adams was a shining light with 18 points and a trio of three-pointers, while Josh Magette added 12 points and five assists for Tasmania.
Meanwhile, fresh off winning a bronze medal at the Olympics with the Boomers, Nathan Sobey led the way for Brisbane with 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
New import Robert Franks was also impressive with 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
The Bullets led by just the one point at half-time before easing away after the long break to record a 10-point win.
The match was played in front of a capacity crowd of 4500 in what was the first outing of the redeveloped Derwent Entertainment Crentre.
Premier Peter Gutwein officially opened MyState Bank Arena earlier on Sunday.
It was one of two NBL Blitz matches played at the venue on Sunday, with Adelaide 36ers defeating Cairns Taipans 91-87 in overtime.
The JackJumpers will return to the court on Tuesday night against Cairns at MyState Bank Arena.
Twelve NBL Blitz games will be played across the state.
