Riverside High and St Patrick's College succeed as Lachlan Brewer stars

With some of the best basketballers in the state turning out for school pride, the weekend proved a showcase of skill and immense talent across the two days.

In the senior girls' division 1 grand final, it was an all St Pat's affair as their division 1 side and division 2 white side competed for title honours. St Pat's division 1 proved too strong for their colleagues winning 45-19.

Annaliese Leeflang (11 points) led the scoring but it was an all-round contribution which secured the victory as seven players found themselves in the points to overpower SPC division 2 White.

Leeflang was also instrumental in the semi-final with Subi Daly (15 points) as they accounted for Scotch Oakburn 1.

In the division 2 grand final, Scotch Oakburn rebounded to secure a well-deserved victory over Riverside High in a dominant display 57-16.

In the boys' senior division 1 grand final, Riverside compiled an unbeaten tournament run and capped it with a crowning glory as they beat Launceston Grammar 49-35.

Riverside's scoring star Lachlan Brewer exploded in the grand final to lead all scorers with 27 points and be the decisive factor throughout the game.

Brewer had been in good scoring form all tournament as the Launceston Basketball Association's MVP dropped 30 points against St Pat's in the match-up prior to the grand final to underline his credentials.

In the senior boys' division 2 grand final, St Pat's division 2 Green side pipped Deloraine senior boys' division 2 46-36 in a winning effort.

In the junior boys' division 1 grand final, St Pat's division 1 Green took home the honours over Riverside 42-30.

Zane Headland and Oliver Viney scored 12 points apiece to lead their team to victory.

Launceston Grammar stole the show in the junior boys' division 2 grand final over Deloraine junior boys' division 2 side 43-19.

In the junior girls' division one grand final, Riverside continued to lead the way for their school as they accounted for St Pat's division 1 Green 36-19 to be crowned champions.

Mia Price (8 points) led the scoring but all players gave a solid showing in an even contribution with six players notching points throughout the game.

St Pat's division 1 Gold won the third-place play-off against Scotch Oakburn 35-34.

Launceston Grammar enjoyed success in the junior girls' division 2 grand final after a tight victory over DHS Junior girls' division 2 side 27-24.
