The former Perth Glory player will be aiming to make a name for herself in the next Women's Super League season after she was announced as Launceston United's first signing of the off-season.
It represents something of a coup for United given La Monte once shared a field with some of the world's best female players in Sam Kerr and Caitlin Foord during her Glory days.
La Monte said that her opportunity at United would provide the perfect springboard to restarting her professional career.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to be able to make a move in football. I look forward to representing Launceston United SC in the upcoming season and I'm excited to work with a new team and coaches to help me pursue my dream of playing professionally in Australia," she said.
La Monte debuted for the Glory in the 2015-16 season as a substitute during the round three fixture against Melbourne City.
La Monte replaced Kathryn Schubert as City ran riot past Glory secure an easy 4-0 victory on the day.
The attacking talent has spent time at WNPL level in WA for several clubs including Balcatta, Queens Park and Murdoch University Melville FC where she won the league title in 2021.
Able to play as a winger or striker, La Monte offers WSL team co-coaches Frank Compton and Lynden Prince a versatile attacking option for next season.
United enjoyed a stand-out maiden WSL campaign which was capped with a second-place finished after they stepped up a grade following an unbeaten Northern Championship season.
La Monte could prove to be a mainstay of the United team which used the wings to great effect last season with the likes of Laura Dickinson and Maddie Lohse occupying the touch-line.
The pair had made no secret of their desire to see greater squad numbers for next season as they implement competition for places to extract the next level of competition from United.
Compton and Prince were glowing in their summation of United's new attacking talent.
"Ellie will provide our WSL squad with experience and attacking flair as we enter our 2nd season in the WSL," they said
"We are delighted to attract such a talented individual to our club and salute her for making the move here to further her opportunities in the game."
