The new clinic - located at 63 Dowling Street - will be open 8.30 am to 3.30 pm seven days a week, and will replace the current clinic operating on Wellington St in South Launceston.
The Dowling Street clinic will include four lanes of drive-through testing, with the ability to upgrade its testing capacity pending a surge in demand.
State Health commander Kathrine Morgan-Wicks said the Tasmanian government had made a commitment to increase its testing capacity in anticipation of Tasmanians travelling more freely and the state opening up once vaccination targets were reached.
