The 2021 Charity Degustation Dinner raised money for the Cancer Council of Tasmania's Under 25 Support Program and was a cause close to the students' hearts.
Launceston College's hospitality students host a charity dinner each year and select a charitable cause that resonates with them.
With courses such as seared scallops, twice-cooked pork belly and a lemon sorbet as a palate cleanser, the dinner was a fine dining celebration fit for a king.
This year, the hospitality class decided to support the Cancer Council as one of the students had been assisted by a similar program while undertaking treatment for cancer.
Student Trevor said he recognised the positive impact the support made for him and his family as they went through one of the most difficult times in his young life.
Launceston College VET Coordinator Hospitality Lucia Farrell said the dinner was always well-attended and the community rallied around the students each year.
We're so passionate about our kids and it's great to see them get out there and succeed.

"The community support us so much each year, so it's really wonderful to give back to the them, too."
