Three public exposure sites listed after positive COVID case in Hobart

Director of Public Health Dr Mark Veitch said contract tracing began on Tuesday night and has continued across Wednesday.

The following sites have been listed as exposure sites.

Anyone who was at these sites at the relevant times is required to isolate where they are and to contact the Public Health Hotline on 1 800 671 738.

Dr Veitch said Public Health was "also identifying and managing people in two households visited by the case, and is assessing and managing any risk to persons involved in the arrival of the case at the airport, their transport into quarantine, and their subsequent breach, testing and return to quarantine".

"People at any risk of exposure to the case will be managed in line with national public health guidelines, with advice, testing and quarantine in accordance with their risk," he said.

"While there is no current indication of public risk from this case, other than to identified contacts, anyone who has even the mildest cold or flu symptoms should arrange a COVID-19 test.

"This is the only way we can pick up on COVID-19 in the Tasmanian community and stop it spreading.

"Vaccination is our best protection against COVID-19. If you are 12 or older and haven't had your first dose, please book in now and protect yourself, your loved ones, and the community."
