The State Netball League club capped off a successful season with its annual presentation evening at Launceston Golf Club with Mawer taking the major honour ahead of reliable and consistent defender, Tessa Coote.
The 19-and-unders acknowledged joint best and fairest winners in Ella McArthur and Matilda Allen who both made major improvements during their first year of state league. Vice-captain Tahlia Randall received the runner-up award after a strong season in defence.
The club also acknowledged several long-term contributors.
Premiership captains and long-standing players Ashton Whiley and Danni Pickett were awarded life membership.
Whiley hailed from Devon where she enjoyed premiership success in the 19Us before joining the Hawks in 2011.
In a post on Facebook, the club said: "Since arriving at Hawks, Ashton has been a diligent player and captain on and off the court over many years and added great value to the club's on-court success. We have been lucky to have Ashton's leadership and work ethic as a Hawk."
Pickett's' connection with the club runs deep as she followed in the footsteps of her mother and fellow life member, Lynne.
"Danni's contribution to the club began 10 years ago," the Facebook post added. "Danni never played in the 19U competition and was selected into opens in her debut year, this was the start of an amazing netball career and providing a young leader for the years that followed."
Pickett was also awarded club person of the year.
"Danni assisted in organising our mid-year fund-raising event, provided leadership and guidance to both teams, helped coach the 15U program and following a season-ending injury continued to 'show up' and give her all to support the club and her teammates."
Stephanie Walker was acknowledged for reaching 100 games with Northern Hawks/Saints.
"Steph has been a great mid-courter for the club, in 19Us as a Saint, then playing with Devon and returning as a Hawk to complete the magic 100."
With many players and supporters in attendance, the club said the night was "full of fun and laughter" as outstanding performances on and off the court were acknowledged.
Michelle O'Byrne MP, co-patron of the club, was "a very efficient and entertaining" MC keeping the proceedings moving along while president Ann Pearce thanked sponsors, committee members and volunteers.
State and association representatives, programs and RACTI League teams were acknowledged which included Pearce, Mawer, Pickett, McArthur, Allen, Jamie Symons, Kendall Jones, Lauren Spencer, Candice Archer, Hannah Carr, Ebony Rainbow, Ava Gleeson, Olivia Brown and Lily Humphreys.
Coaches Kellie Tahiri and Kellie Woolnough praised and celebrated their players' efforts over the season.
