LONGFORD avoided another Deloraine last-quarter comeback, defeating the Kangaroos 12.14 (86) to 5.4 (34) to win its third-straight Make Runs Maxi cup.

The Tigers led by 51 points at the final break courtesy of a four goal to nothing quarter but two Kangaroos goals, including a Lochy Dornauf overhead, threatened a second-straight comeback.
But the ladder-leader held strong as Luke Murfitt-Cowen finished with seven majors, two of which came in the last minute of the first term, bringing his season tally to 89.
Deloraine were in the contest for most of the match, with plenty of contested passages throughout but damaging moments in the first and third quarters took the game away.

Longford's Liam Davies was named the best, followed by Murfitt-Cowen and Josh Frankcombe, while Deloraine co-captain Jarrod Scott and Ashdyn Heathcoate were strong in Brodie Donohue's 200th.
ROCHERLEA's big guns were flying as the Tigers ended Hillwood's year with a 19.12 (126) to 2.3 (15) defeat.
Josh Holton kicked five and Brayden Claridge four as 10 Tigers hit the scoreboard in the dominant performance, which saw them boot seven goals in the final term.
Jordan Cousens, Brady Scott and Holton were named Rocherlea's biggest three, while Sam Sherriff and Kaleb Nielsen were Hillwood's goalkickers as Austin Lisson impressed.
Rocherlea's win, and Deloraine's loss, means the Tigers now sit third, armed with the finals double chance heading into the final round.
SOUTH LAUNCESTON had half of its team find the big sticks as the Bulldogs ran out 15.17 (107) to 3.5 (23) winners against George Town.
A five goal to nothing second term pulled the home side away from the Saints, establishing a 47-point buffer which they extended throughout.
Bart McCulloch kicked four, bringing his season tally to 57, which is only being eclipsed by Murfitt-Cowen, while Lachie Cocker kicked two, extending his solid sporting week after a strong basketball performance.
Shaun Muller kicked two of George Town's majors as young duo Zayvier Quilliam and Sam Freeman led the way.
BRACKNELL overcame a slow start before defeating Scottsdale 15.16 (106) to 6.7 (43).
Matty Dennis shone up forward for the second consecutive week, booting five as the jack of all trades took his yearly tally to 26, while Jackson Chorley chipped in with three.
After leading at quarter-time, the Magpies only kicked two in the next three terms as Chev Deacon finished the game as their only multiple goalkicker.
Trent Page, Josh Holland and Cal Mulder were Bracknell's best, while Lochie Young and Brad Tuffin backed up strong performances from last week, with the former named Scottsdale's strongest.
