The Tasmanian Chamber Music Festival is only in its fifth year, but is already climbing the charts to rank beside bigger names such as the Brisbane Music Festival, 4MBS Festival of Classics, Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival, Australian Festival of Chamber Music, and Tyalgum Music Festival in Australia.
Tasmanian Chamber Music Festival director Allanah Dopson was gobsmacked when she found out about the ranking.

"I was very excited by that, and to also be in with the [other festivals] and some of those bigger names," she said.
"We are a pretty new festival."
Ms Dopson said the recognition would spur on thoughts for bigger events in upcoming years.
"It just means it has to continue, and I'm excited it's going to continue and get bigger and better," she said.
"[But, at the moment], I'm juggling looking after this year and thoughts for next year too."
The festival has already been contacted by an agent about a non-Tasmanian artist who was keen to join the program next year.
"[The festival is] keen to go a bit more international as well, it's just been a bit worrying with COVID-19," Ms Dopson said.
The festival will be split in two this year, with two events back-to-back.
The program performances will specifically be held in the townships of Evandale, Longford and Westbury.
Tickets are already selling quickly, with the second festival's package tickets already sold out. Packages to the first festival, and single tickets to both festivals, are still up for grabs.
"I'm thrilled we have most of our festival packages sold," Ms Dopson said.
The festival will run from October 20-22, and then again from October 22-24. The full program and tickets are available at taschamberfestival.com.au.
