Now, the same water has gone on to win the Best Municipal Water for 2021 at the Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting event in the USA after wining Tasmania's best tasting water last year.
Rossarden's award is also momentous on a national level, being the first Australia municipality to take out the prestigious award.
TasWater Acting chief executive Juliet Mercer said the award was testament to the organisation's 24 glasses regional towns water supply program, which resulted in the removal of all public health alerts on Tasmanian drinking water.
"Seeing a town where so recently you could not even drink the water, now recognised as having the best drinking water in the world is an incredible result and a great source of pride to TasWater," Ms Mercer said.
