On Tuesday morning, Tasmania Police said parts of the road at Liawenee had been washed out, and only 4WD vehicles would be given access.
The partial closure came after a flood watch for the North, North East, and North-West was issued on Monday night, with minor flooding expected across parts of the state by Tuesday afternoon.
Widespread rainfall totals of 30 to 50 millimetres were expected across northern areas, with 100 millimetres possible in elevated areas on the Western Tiers.
