The 21-year-old enjoyed a dream return to Launceston on the weekend, kicking the winning goal as North Melbourne registered its first victory in 16 games.
Playing on UTAS Stadium for the first time since becoming a two-time North Launceston premiership player in 2018, Thomas saved the best of his 18 touches until last, collecting the loose ball 40m from goal and converting to put the Roos 11 points clear.
The sole blight on his weekend was a one-match suspension after the AFL's match review officer graded a first-quarter collision with Hawthorn defender Changkuoth Jiath as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

Jiath left the ground for a concussion test, but was able to return to the field later in the game as the Kangaroos ran away with a seven-point win.
Opting to challenge the ban, North Melbourne fronted the tribunal on Tuesday night and successfully argued that the incident was not a bump, but rather two players contesting the ball.
The AFL's legal counsel Jeff Gleeson disagreed, arguing: "He's not reaching out for the ball, but rather assumes a tucked-up position to bump".
The tribunal jury, which in typical Zoom fashion was briefly adjourned while chairman David Jones let his wife into his house, deliberated for just eight minutes before overturning Thomas' ban.
The decision means the former number eight draft pick will continue a run of nine consecutive games this season after missing all but six games of 2020 with an ankle injury.
Earlier in the day, the former St Patrick's College student was unveiled as one of the three central subjects in a new Amazon documentary Warriors on the Field.
The documentary, which celebrates Indigenous Australia's association with AFL, provides insight into the careers of Thomas, Docker Michael Walters and retired premiership Swan Michael O'Loughlin.
