Arriving at the Bombers in the off-season, the 193-game AFL star has thrown his weight behind a club program that has yielded seven consecutive senior grand final appearances.
After four games, the 2-2 Bombers have blooded 10 debutants, walloped Lauderdale and been competitive in both their losses against top-ranked sides Launceston and Clarence.
"I think the club itself is in a really good place and going in a really good direction," Schulz said.
"I've been really impressed with how professional they are as a club, how well set-up they are and they've made it easier for me in a new role which I'm learning all the time as well.
"The seniors are looking good, they're a young side but we're trying to upskill the younger guys coming through - the 16s and 18s as well so we can get them into the senior side.
"They're going well and I've been very impressed with Brad [Cox-Goodyer] as a coach and I've tried to give him whatever support I can."

A surprise absentee from the 93-point win over Lauderdale, Cox-Goodyer took the reins from two-time flag coach Taylor Whitford in November following three seasons as captain.
As a player, Cox-Goodyer has won virtually every accolade the TSL has to offer, and Schulz believes the 28-year-old can be every bit as good as a leader.
"He's very impressive as a coach," Schulz said.
"He's only young but he's a smart footballer and you have to be to be a decent coach, you have to know the game, which he does.
"He's always happy to bounce ideas off me and we work pretty well together and don't live far from each other at the moment which is good."
