Tasmania Police is seeking information about a head-on car crash, which sent two people to hospital, on the Midland Highway last night.

The crash occurred about 9.55pm near Melton Mowbray, about 1.5 kilometres north of the Highland Lakes Road intersection.
Initial investigations revealed a white Mitsubishi Triton utility crossed onto the southbound lane and continued to drive North, before colliding head on with a blue Honda CRV.

Both drivers were treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries, before being taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital for further treatment.
Police want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the vehicle prior to it. As information provided to police suggests another vehicle may have narrowly missed the Mitsubishi Triton prior to the crash.
Police are continuing to investigate and after any dash camera footage leading up to the crash.
