A Tasmania Police spokesperson said four people were climbing Mt Geryon when one person fell from a significant height about 9.30am.
Despite attempts from emergency services, the spokesperson said the extremely difficult terrain has stopped them from being able to access the person and assess their condition.
"A vertical rescue specialist team is currently en route via helicopter to access the area and assess the person's condition," the spokesperson said.
