Archana Brammell, owner and manager of Sweetbrew Cafe, has taken the 13th director position.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Ms Brammell's appointment brings with it a female majority Board of Directors, something that is believed to never have occurred before.
Ms Brammell said she was seeking a greater use of her skills outside of her businesses.
"I am deeply passionate about the quality of life Launceston has to offer and its potential for growth and development," she said.
"Joining the Launceston Chamber of Commerce will allow me to share my skills and enthusiasm to work constructively in driving Launceston's development."
Chamber executive officer David Peach said Ms Brammell had an impressive CV as a previous Cityprom board member and as a post-graduate student of business at UTAS among other things.
"At the height of the COVID pandemic, Sweetbrew pivoted to a different operating model," he said.
"It's exactly this kind of resilience, leadership, and adaptive thinking that she'll bring to the board. I'm really pleased with this appointment."
