Bridport's stage one water restrictions lifted 48 days

The stage one restrictions were due to run from December 18 until March 30. However, they will be lifted on February 10, more than a month earlier than expected.

TasWater asset strategy manager Duncan Sinclair said good river flows and lower than historic demand for water at this time of the year had led to the early lifting of restrictions.

"We thank the Bridport community for their support in reducing their water use over the past few months, along with visitors to the town," he said.

"We are in the process of investigating a number of options for improving the security of supply for the region. We will continue to monitor the system and keep the community informed as we work towards a solution for Bridport.
