An Ambulance Tasmania vehicle left the road and dropped into a culvert while it was transporting a patient on the Bass Highway near Devonport on Saturday morning.

Ambulance Tasmania Northern regional manager Greg Edsall said the ambulance was being used to transport a patient and medical crew from the North West Regional Hospital to Launceston when the incident occurred
"The paramedics, medical crew and patient in the vehicle were not harmed and called for assistance when the incident occurred," he said.

Mr Edsall said additional ambulances were dispatched to the scene, with the patient and medical crew continuing their journey to the Launceston General Hospital.
There were no adverse patient outcomes.
Ambulance Tasmania will investigate the incident.
It is the second incident involving an Ambulance Tasmania vehicle within a week after an ambulance rolled on its side while responding to a car crash on November 28.
