As The Examiner's NTFA correspondent, I watched quite a bit of local footy action this season.

Admittedly it could have been a bit more with attendance on Friday nights but sometimes life gets in the way.
Throughout the competition's nine rounds of home and away contests and two weeks of finals, I watched almost every side and subsequently set myself a challenge.
As there are no official awards for the 2020 NTFA season, I've set myself the task of coming up with the association's team of the year.
Given the task was quite a last minute one, unfortunately it's only out of those who made finals to make it somewhat easier (sorry Rohan Sergeant).
In selecting the side, seven Rocherlea and Deloraine players got the nod while five from Scottsdale and three from Old Scotch made the cut.
In that bunch, 238 goals were scored across 17 members of the side.
So, here it goes - my opinion of the NTFA Shield's finals team of the year.
DEFENDERS
This season's premiers Deloraine were an incredibly hard side to score against, only conceding 365 points in their eight home and away matches.
Matthew Mitchell and Tyler Kelly were a huge part of their success as well as Brayden Butler (named on the wing due to versatility), who consistently took intercept marks to save the Roos.
Named as the best one-on-on player his coach Lochy Dornauf has played with, Mitchell thrives off the competition as a very similar player to Scottsdale's Christian Barnes, whose booming left boot saved the Magpies on multiple occasions.
Roos veteran and games record-holder Brad Crowden has been named on the bench as the side's reliable ball user and strong mark.
Rocherlea trio vice-captain Luke Richards, the retiring Lyndon Stubbs and the popular Cody Weedon have all been named in the backline with Richards and Stubbs providing pace from the back pockets and Weedon consistently picking up rebound 50s.
Old Scotch's defence looked to be more team-based during the contests I watched, with no specific names standing out.
NTFA FINALS FEVER
MIDFIELDERS
Old Scotch co-captains Alec Fotheringham and Jonty Swallow are unlucky omissions from the side's engine room but she's an extremely hard side to crack into.
Premiership coach Dornauf leads Butler, Rocherlea duo Jacob Hawkins and Jordan Cousens as well as Scottsdale leader Ethan Petterwood in a midfield unit full of experience, pace and skill.
The Deloraine duo played all over the ground throughout the season but did the majority of their damage in the middle - Dornauf in the middle and Butler on the outside.
Cousens also played a lot off half-back for the Tigers, but once again did a lot more damage in the centre, as shown as best on ground in the grand final.
Petterwood looked to be a step above the rest on return to Tasmanian football following several seasons in the VFL as the Magpies' driving force.
FORWARDS
A tough six (well, eight counting the bench) to select based on positions but the squad's statistics speak for themselves.
While Bridgenorth's Sergeant and Bracknell's Corry Goodluck led the competition's goalkicking and nearly gained exemptions to this side, the on-field group certainly know where the big sticks are.
Between them Andrew Cox-Goodyer (31 goals), Connor Dixon (29), Dan Berry, Dom Shegog (both 21), Josh Holton (20) and Charlie Eastoe (19) bagged 141 goals.
Add in the bench duo of Mitchell Bennett (18) and Daniel Viney (12) and midfielders Dornauf (20), Butler (18), Hawkins (11) and Cousens (10) and these blokes can score a goal.
Experienced Tigers duo Cox-Goodyer and Holton led the Tigers' forward line this season, allowing young skipper Brayden Claridge to drift up the ground and have an influence that way.
Aside from the elder statesmen, young forwards dominated the competition in Dixon, Berry, Shegog and the pacey Eastoe stamping their legacy on the abnormal 2020 season and situation.
RUCKS
Twenty-year-old Deloraine ruckman Jarrod Scott has already had a pretty impressive career.
Named in 2019's NTFA team of the year, Scotty is now a premiership captain and has proved to be the competition's leading ruckman this season.
His deputy in 2020s finals team of the year comes in Old Scotch big man George Oliver - a big-bodied type in contrast to Scott's natural leaping ability.
Oliver arguably got the better of Scott in their round eight bye, out-muscling him in the contests and leaving him battered and bruised.
BEST OF THE REST
As mentioned above, Sergeant's 53 goals (including a mammoth haul of 16 against UTAS) and Goodluck's 33 led the way for sides that didn't qualify for finals.
But they weren't the only ones as a Meander Valley duo were named in the best players every time they stepped out on the park.
New Evandale coach Sam Bouwman and 2019 team of the year member Richie Heazlewood played seven matches each and were named as one the side's best six on each occasion with only finals members Butler, Scott and Cousens appearing more.
UTAS' Brad Tuffin, Liam Guardia and Will Claessens also featured seven times as did Bracknell's Nick Jones and Jack Dyer.
