By the middle of next month the company is predicting it will have completed its 6,000,000th trip since a new dispatch system was introduced in September 2013.
Taxi Combined operations manager Neil Fawcett said the milestone would likely be reached in October and a prize would be given to the lucky customer.
"We are restricted under government legislation to only work in Launceston. So, yes it is quite a big milestone for the area that we have.
"We are running at anywhere between, depending on the day of the week, 1300 to 2000 jobs a day. It's probably going to be mid to late October when we hit this milestone.
In other news:
"We're talking about offering a prize of some kind, whether it be a weekend accommodation or something like that," he said.
"I thought about doing one at our five million milestone, but I think now it might be a good time to ... show that despite COVID, we are still about, we're still operating, we're still here to service the public."
Although the prize for the lucky customer who takes the milestone trip has not been decided, it will be soon.
